Picture
Come all ye falconers, guests, family and birds to the 2014 Virginia Falconer's Association annual picnic! Once again the VFA is hosting an off-season get together in Crozet, Virginia and we hope to see everyone there! It is an excellent opportunity to see old friends, meet new ones, learn about falconry, eat amazing food and enjoy the beautiful countryside.  Posted here is some helpful information about the event.

Date:           August 16. 2014

Place:         Greenwood Community Center (same as last                             two years)

Address:    865 Greenwood Road, Crozet, VA 22932.

Cost:         To Be Announced

RSVP:   In order to ensure there will be enough food for everyone, we STRONGLY URGE VFA members to RSVP and include                 the number of guests. VFA members will receive an email shortly with all contact info and details on who to contact
and how to RSVP. Non-member guests may contact the picnic organizer ([email protected] - Please
remove the "-" before sending) to be included in the headcount.

Schedule:

11AM - Guests arrive
12PM - Lunch!  The caterer from last year will be back and serving pulled pork BBQ, Kevin's special beans, cole slaw,
cornbread, some other sides, fried chicken (get there early for chicken -- it went fast last year), brownies, cookies,
                drinks.
1:30PM - Membership Meeting - All Welcome
2:30PM - Fundraising Auction & Awards. Art and Equipment will be displays during the afternoon

Some special notes

  • PLEASE NO DOGS - For the safety of the birds, please leave your dogs at home. While your dog and bird may be buds, many birds are not used to dogs and may be stressed by their presence. Thanks for your consideration.
  • No alcohol is permitted at the Community Center
  • Please park in the front of the building. You will see some cars behind for unloading and set-up, but the folks at the county frown upon a parking lot on the grass in the rear of the building.
