VFA membership is due on January 1st of the membership year. It is best purchased online. Membership directly pays for the HawkTalk, our club's yearly publication. The HawkTalk features falconry and raptor related articles and pictures submitted by our members. The HawkTalk is distributed to VFA members at the picnic.
Our three yearly events -the two meets and the picnic- are gatherings that allow members to socialize, ask questions and observe some birds. These venues are not guaranteed pathways to finding sponsors. For information on how to find a sponsor, look under "Education: What to do before Finding a Sponsor".
The VFA Board and Directors are all volunteers. Elections are held at the picnic and at the times as positions need to be filled.
Raptors- for the most part- are solitary birds and therefore gatherings of falconers are not common. VFA Meets are loosely organized with small group of persons getting together and flying their birds in far flung places.
